HRH Crown Prince Haakon is the High Patron of the Northern Lights Festival.
The patronage was extended at the end of 2020, and applies until 31 December 2025.
The Crown Prince last visited the festival in 2009 where he presented on the official opening of the festival.

HRH Crown Prince Haakon was supposed to visit the festival in 2024, however the visit had to be canceled due to bad weather and canceled flights.
During the visit, the Crown Prince was to attend the performance Haíresis - to whom do you give your soul? , and visit Kvaløya sykehjem in connection with the concert tour that the festival has dedicated to the Crown Prince couple on the occasion of their 50th birthdays.

We warmly welcome the Crown Prince back on a later occasion.
