The Northern Lights Award

The Northern Lights Award is awarded to performing musicians or composers who, through their work in Northern Norway, have distinguished themselves at a high artistic level, and thereby contributed to marking the region's music scene in a positive way.

The Northern Lights Award was first handed out in 1989 to Håkon Stødle. The award is a statue and NOK 50.000, presented by the festival and the regional newspaper Nordlys.
