The Northern Lights Award

The Northern Lights Award is awarded to a musician or a compositor from northern Norway. The winner has shown extraordinary quality on and/or off the stage and has lifted the regions culture.

The Northern Lights Award was first handed out in 1989 to Håkon Srødle. The award is a diploma and 50.000 kroner, presented by the festival and the newspaper Nordlys.
