Leonard Cohen is loved by many; dare we say most. He is a legend, and one of the most influential musicians of our time.
At the Northern Lights Festival, you can experience the Arctic Sinfonietta interpreting Cohen’s songs, with Ida Løvheim from local Hollow Hearts on vocals.
Cohen writes songs about love, loneliness, sex, and death. Løvheim's delicate close voice and the musical fierceness of the Arctic Sinfonietta makes this acoustic interpretation of Cohen’s material both intimate and raw, fragile, and brutal.
The Sinfonietta are joined on stage by colleagues El Perro Andaluz from Dresden. The German ensemble can also be heard playing contemporary music along with renowned Norwegian saxofonist Ola Rokkones earlier in the week.
