Concert in the dark

Choral music is often described as soft and comfortable, but could there also be times when it could make you fear? This is something I’ve asked myself lately.

Come and step into the darkness with Vokal Nord and musician Peter Baden! The performance explores the various shades of obscurity combining choral singing with live electronics. And as the title says, it will be experienced in a dark concert hall.

The core piece of the program is Veljo Tormis’ Raua Needmine (Curse Upon Iron), a shamanistic protest against the destroying power of evil. Alongside the questions of good and bad, will mystery and light also be present in and pieces from e.g. Julia Wolfe, David Lang and Sven-David Sandström.
