Masterclass - Bluebeards' Castle

Welcome to the Open Masterclass, where vocal students from the Music Program at Kongsbakken High School meet two of the country's foremost opera soloists - mezzo-soprano Hege Høisæther and bass Magne Fremmerlid.

Bluebeard's Castle is considered one of the 20th century's masterpieces and is Béla Bartók's only opera. In the Cathedral, we will experience one of the first chamber versions, where the grandeur of the score is preserved in an intense interplay between the organ and the piano.

The roles of Judith and Bluebeard are performed by Hege Høisæther and Magne Fremmerlid, two of Norway's leading opera soloists, both with acclaimed solo careers in Norway and abroad. They will meet vocal students from the Music Program at Kongsbakken in the Festival Hall for professional and artistic guidance.

The masterclass is free and open to everyone.
