Midnight Concerts

At the Midnight Concerts, you can experience the rich musical coastal culture of Arctic Norway.

The musicians create a beautiful atmosphere with candlelight in one of Tromsø’s most significant historical buildings. They take you on a journey through a musical treasure chest of coastal culture, offering insights into who the people of Northern Norway truly are.

The concerts feature hymns, folk tunes, ballads, traditional Norwegian music, as well as elements of Sámi and Kven traditions. These performances reflect the past, present, and future, presented by the region’s leading professional musicians.

For over two decades, the Midnight Concerts have been one of Tromsø’s most popular events, attracting both locals and visitors. This memorable cultural experience hopes to give you a unique and intimate look at the rich heritage of our coastal communities. As you relax on the church pews and listen closely, we hope you will gain a special insight into the Arctic soul.
