Mimmi, Marius & Konsen

The Music Conservatory at UiT, The Arctic University of Norway, has long been one of the Northern Lights Festival's most important partners, and every year the music students fill large parts of the festival with fantastic music, talent, and enthusiasm. In addition to the traditional lunch and Closing Time concerts, we are developing a couple of larger collaborations between the students and professional artists. In 2025, we are particularly pleased that the Conservatory is welcoming both festival headliners for educational and artistic collaboration.

At the Music Conservatory, it has become a tradition to invite musicians and artists to collaborate and perform with the students. They set high standards, choosing interesting and highly skilled musicians who can both mentor the students and perform alongside them.

The learning experiences and opportunities gained from such projects are extremely valuable for everyone involved.

Mimmi Tamba and Marius Neset need no further introduction in this text, as they appear in several settings throughout this year's festival. For their collaboration with the music students, both bring their own repertoire to the table. Together, they will interpret and refine the material over a few intense rehearsal days, before it all culminates in a concert at Verdensteateret.
