Program 2023
For many decades in the post-war period, Egil Monn-Iversen was the most significant figure in Norwegian cultural life. He could help build a career and just as easily tear it apart. No wonder he eventually was nicknamed The Godfather.
After his big breakthrough with the group The Monn Keys, his career went up hill. He founded his own record company, became theater director at Chat Noir and musical director at the Norwegian Broadcasting Company. As a composer and musical director, he mastered countless genres, and he moved with playful ease from jazz to folk song, film music and musicals.
In this concert performance, the audience gets to know both the man, the composer and the godfather Egil Monn-Iversen.
In collaboration with Musikk i Nordland and Hålogaland Teater.
