Program 2024
A powerful and dynamic meeting between joik and Americana!
Arvvas is back and based on the latest album "Dás Dál", bassist and singer Steinar Raknes and joiker Sara Marielle Gaup Beaska presents new songs that contain great contrasts, both musically and lyrically.
The duo's music alternates between lyrical, beautiful moods and rock grooves, between humour and melancholy. Together they have created a unique musical universe.
Arvvas is a Northern Sami word that means to work from the heart, to have energy. The reason for this choice of name becomes evident when experiencing this duo live on stage.
Sara Marielle Gaup Beaska is a world-class Sami joiker who masters both the ancient and modern techniques of joiking. She had her breakthrough with the group Adjágas and has also produced several solo projects. Steinar Raknes is one of Norway's leading double bass players and is also known for his vocal project Stillhouse.
On stage Steinar Raknes (vokal/bass), Sarah Marielle Gaup Beaska (joik)
