På vei mot nordlyset (Towards the northern lights)

Pianist Ekaterina Isayevskaya has been fascinated by the music of Bach since she was a child, and in 2019 she asked musician and composer Rakel Nystabakk to add a new perspective to the music. Together with lighting and video designer Tor Ditlevsen, they have created an audiovisual experience where technology meets tradition, and the northern lights become the symbol of the power that exists in each of us, and drives us in our search for life’s wonders.

This concert was meant to premiere in November 2020 as part of the opening of the exhibition "Under the light" at Norway's Arctic University Museum. Due to the pandemic, the solution at the time became a music video projected onto the museum's outer wall. Now we can finally experience the performance as it was intended.
