The Met opens the 2024 season with a new and modern production of one of operatic literature's most significant works; Carmen by Georges Bizet (1838-1875).
English director Carrie Cracknell makes her Met debut, with a renewed and modern direction focusing on gender-related violence, a destructive work environment and the desire to break with society's restrictions.
