Yuri Honing is the Dutch really big saxophone star. With his clear signature tone, he and his quartet come to the Northern Lights Festival with their melodic jazz.
With his highly acclaimed acoustic quartet, Nederlands's best-selling artist and triple Dutch Grammy-winning saxophonist and composer Yuri Honing is ready once again for Tromsø.
A concert with Honing and his band is always an event, where the quartet is known to reach a much wider audience than jazz usually does. This is because the band is known for not only playing their own songs, but also incorporating songs and elements from the rock and pop world. Formerly Honing, among others, coveted both David Bowie and Radiohead.
With a total of 18 studio records, it is not without reason that the saxophonist is one of Holland's most profiled jazz musicians. Last with the album Goldbrun in 2017, which received brilliant feedback in the international press. In addition, it has been announced that Honing is ready with a new full-length by spring 2020.
Yuri Honing actually visited Tromsø last 2016 under the wings of the Tromsø Jazz Club, which also made this concert possible.
