The Midnight Concerts

The musicians create a lovely atmosphere with lit candles in one of Tromsø's most important historic buildings. They take you on a journey through a musical treasure trove of coastal culture and an insight into who the people of Northern Norway really are.

The concerts consist of hymns, folk tunes, shows, traditional Norwegian music, but also elements from Sami and Kvensk. The concerts reflect the past, present and future, and are presented by the country's leading professional musicians.

The midnight concerts have been one of Tromsø's most popular events for over two decades, for locals and visitors alike. This memorable cultural experience hopes to give you a unique and up-close insight into the rich cultural heritage of our coastal communities. If you lean back on the church bench and listen carefully, we hope that you will get a special insight into the Arctic soul.
