A lifelong dance

Are you there for me
Are you there with me?
Can I be with you without losing myself?
How can one be oneself—authentic and free—while also being part of a community? Belonging and attachment often conflict, and this can be especially difficult within a family: What legacy do you want to carry forward in life, and what should be left in the past?
Sisters Forever is a performance about the pull between independence, identity, and community, set against a backdrop of dramatic family events. In the performance, sisters Anne Katrine and Liv Hanne Haugen share personal stories and family videos on stage, inviting you to take a glimpse into their lives.
If you have followed the Haugen sisters for a long time, you may know that Sisters Forever is the final part of a critically acclaimed trilogy, following Sisters (2003) and Sisters 11 Years Later (2014). In Sisters Forever, it is the paternal side of the family that takes center stage. On stage, the Haugen sisters are both strong and vulnerable, with an interplay that makes room for grief, anger, and joy. The delivery is honest, intimate, and hard-hitting, but there is also room for humor. The result is a performance that both moves and engages.
The performance can easily be enjoyed without having seen the first two parts of the trilogy. Welcome to a powerful performance about attachment, identity, and legacy.
