The first ticket release of the fall is always really exciting for us here at the office - and we hope it is for you too!
A ticket release for the Northern Lights Festival traditionally has several events on the bill! Many have already caught Tungrodd – Rahčamuš – Raataminen which we released last week, and have been itching to get their hands on tickets. Here we bring you a few more goodies that you now have the opportunity to secure your place.
Together with Tromsø Storband, we have the pleasure of inviting American jazz star Kurt Elling. The two-time Grammy-winning vocalist, described as the foremost male jazz vocalist of our time, is coming to Tromsø for the first time with his unique blend of swing, soul, virtuosity and poetic power! They play at The Edge on February 20
Mozart's mighty Requiem will be given new life when Tromsø's young talents gather at the Northern Lights Festival in 2027. Choirs with students from the music line at Kongsbakken, soloists, orchestra and choir singers from the Music Conservatory, together with professional musicians from Musikk i Nordland and Scene Nord, join forces in a great collaboration under the direction of conductor Øystein Jæger. This will take place on Thursday, February 18 at Tromsø Cathedral
Stories and music go hand in hand when Trond Graff, known from bands such as The Pussycats, The Jet Blacks and Powersection, takes the audience through a life filled with music, creative inventions and unexpected adventures. Together with a star-studded cast of musicians, he offers both classics from his career and newer songs, while the stories along the way tie it all together into a personal, warm and entertaining retrospective. Get Trond Graff with band on Tuesday 16 February
The trio Trio no Treble, which may be unknown to many, but oh so amazing, is visiting the Northern Lights Festival, with not just one, but two completely different concerts. Trio no Treble is, in an unconventional way, a trio with viola, cello and double bass – a trio without a treble, only dark voices and a deep sound. Since 2017, they have managed to play a number of successful concerts in Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Spain, Serbia, Hong Kong and Nepal.
Now that the trio is no longer unknown to you, we recommend that you go to the Quizkonsert on Monday 15 February at Amtmandens, and bring along one of the family's young promising acts at Musikkfabrikken - Relæxt in the Festsalen, Rødbanken.

Today's big tip: if someone is now thinking "I want to see Mozart's Requiem, Kurt Elling & Tromsø Storband and Tungrodd" then they should buy a festival pass. A little simple math shows that with a closing weekend pass they currently save 100 kr on the three concerts alone (even more with earlybird), and we know that there will be more, we are not even a quarter of the way there. With a full festival pass it won't take much before we are up and nodding off at the money saved.
